Hello!

Thanks for writing. We are leaving Geraldine in Sitka for the time being and have been back to cruise on her six times since finishing the big trip last September. The crew returned to their families and jobs and have been given many chances to share about the trip with pictures in different venues. We are all grateful for the opportunity to do such an exciting expedition, see the places few ever see and meet the people who so generously helped us along the way.

Have been wondering where Geraldine is for months, Captain & Crew etc.. the trip stopped at Sitca , Captain & his wife arrived back after Christmas 2008 ..and have been hanging ever since waiting for more news to where everyone is.

Where is Geraldine now , has the trip finished..what has happened to the Captain & Crew

hello,

loved your blog. what an adventure! i have a 42′ motor boat in the seattle area (a nordic tug 42). i have travelled throughout B.C. and S.E. AK extensively. However, i am now pondering a trip across the gulf of AK next summer. since i’m a single engine boat i would like to install some type of get home system. i noticed your posting where you mention your get home system that runs off the genset at will propel the boat at 5.5 kts. would you be kind enough to tell me what kind of system this is and what size is your genset?

i would be very grateful for a response.

Kip thanks a lot!!! it is thrilling to look again at these pictures! It seems so long ago in some ways and it seems just like yesterday when I look at these pictures. I could almost hear the engine and feel the swaying on the waves. Thanks again to you and Walt for “The Trip of a Lifetime”!

Happy New Year (almost) Kip and Walt! Your report was reassuring – your northern home was still floating and livable. The photos are wonderful and convey the chilly and quiet atmosphere well. A few hours of daylight – just like I remember the London winters – except colder where you are! Enjoy the peace and tranquility and rest. See you back in the SV race soon.
